Northern Adult Riding Club

Northern Adult Riding Club is based in Westbury, Tasmania, and offers friendship through riding for riders who love and respect their animals and want to develop a cohesive and relaxed relationship with their horse.

If you enjoy riding and want to improve your horsemanship with quality instruction, at a modest price and without pressure to perform above your skill level, our club may be the answer. Beginners and nervous riders are welcomed and sessions in flatwork, jumping and activities are conducted by experienced instructors. There is no pressure put on riders to do anything they are not comfortable doing.

Every type of rider and all disciplines are catered for, including dressage, jumping, hacking and trail riding, along with special activities.

Our clubroom forms the hub of our activities, providing shelter, toilet facilities, barbecue area and storage rooms for our enviable collection of training tools, jumps, obstacles, games equipment and portable dressage arena.

The club has its own trailer for transporting equipment to other venues, a number of permanent horse yards, and an area for cross country practice. Other venues, such as Harveydale, Westbury Showground, Violet Banks indoor arena, Birralee Pony Club Grounds, Edinburgh Park and Rosevale Sports Ground, are occasionally used, depending on the weather and the activity.

Rallies are held on the last Sunday of each month.

The Club’s biggest event and main fundraiser is the Annual Navigation Ride at Harveydale - a fun day for all ages.
